Hometown: Los Angeles, CA
Education/Background:
UCLA, B.A. Sociology; San Francisco State University, M.A. Anthropology
Why HSH?
Because HSH knows the value of teaching students second languages from the earliest years! And — I love working with students in my own community. We are making a difference in the larger community by teaching the values and standards to make the world a more compatible, connected, and peaceful place.
What work do you do outside HSH to support our mission?
I write articles (LA Parent Mag Sept/Oct 2024) and books (Histria Books 2925) to promote bilingualism and biliteracy. I also help my daughter fundraise for the Book World nonprofit. I also run Habla Blah Blah to inspire joyful young learners of Spanish and French through song & silliness!
What is one thing people would be surprised to learn about you?
I am terrible at remembering lyrics to any songs - even my own!
